Can I apply for more than one option?

I have just left employment, education, training… what should I do now?

You need to register with the Participation & Transition (PAT) Service – part of Doncaster Council for support with information, advice and/or guidance about career options (including employment, education and training options) CV Support, interview techniques etc.  Telephone 01302 862150.

I am 16/17 and unemployed… can my parents/carers still claim Child Benefit / Tax Credits?

There is no automatic entitlement of benefits for anybody under the age of 18.  However, hardship benefit and income support may be available depending on individual circumstances.

Support with writing a CV, interview skills and job search should be available via your School or Training Provider.  You should speak to your  tutor or training adviser.  Support and information also available here.

I’m in education / training but I’m not enjoying it and thinking of leaving… where can I get help and careers advice?

All schools, colleges and training providers are required to provide Careers Advice to their students/learners.  To request an appointment, please ask your tutor, reception or careers office.

I’ve completed my GCSEs, but I’m returning to 6th form in September… do I need to register with the PAT Service?

Registration with the PAT Service is not required as support is available in School. 

I have no money for bus fares etc for interviews… do you provide money to support?

I have to pay for equipment/clothing for my college/training course.. How can I get help with costs?

Please contact their place of education (college/training provider) to discuss available funds, bursary etc.

I have applied for a college course / apprenticeship / training programme but I’ve not had a response about my application… what should I do?

If it has been more than two weeks since your application was submitted, we would suggest that you contact the college, training provider, employer to chase things up.

Is there any support available for my dental, optical costs etc?
