Welcome to the McAuley Catholic High School. We are delighted that you are looking at our contribution to the Doncaster Online Prospectus and hope that the information provided will help you to make the right decisions about where you can study and the combination of subjects that will enable you to achieve success.

We are a voluntary aided faith school in the Diocese of Hallam providing a distinctive Catholic education based on Christian values for our 11 – 19 students. We are a very successful and oversubscribed school located in a pleasant environment three miles from Doncaster town centre. Our school has three specialisms: Performing Arts, Vocational Education and Leading Edge focussing on high achievement in Mathematics and English. This means that there are many opportunities for our students to enjoy drama, music and performance as well as studying from a wide choice of applied and work related subjects. Our ‘Leading Edge’ status allows us to continue to build upon the excellence that we have achieved in Mathematics and English and share our good practice with other schools.

Our school is on a split site and has 1730 students including a large Sixth Form. Most of our students travel from within the Doncaster Borough but some come from North Nottinghamshire and North Lincolnshire.

Learner support

We are proud of the excellent care and support that we provide to nuture the personal, moral and spiritual growth of each one of our students in addition to supporting their academic needs.

The academic mentoring program ensures that each student has a regular learning discussion with their form tutor. These meetings are informed by fortnightly ‘attitude to learning’ reports made by subject tutors to ensure that the work of student, subject and pastoral teams is coordinated.

We want each student to feel happy and secure within our Christ centred community where our ethos creates a climate of endeavour, harmony and respect. The school’s strength lies in our collective belief in the Mission Statement which is visible in every aspect of school life. We are a very caring school both in terms of academic progress and welfare.

Our students participate fully in the life of the school and in the celebration of our success.  We have an active Student Council made up of elected members of the study body from each year group. This provides a forum where our students are able to present their views about school life and experiences.

We have been awarded the ‘Investors in People’ and ‘Every Child Matters’ Inclusion Quality Mark.
